I’m writing a story about a friend of mine named Bien Alfonso Benson. He is a Nursing Student like me. This is a real story that  happened last March 9. 2009

Unexpected Choice

March 9 2009

It was an unforgettable day for all of us,  we have successfully presented our Macro seminar entitled “Do you want to be complete?” a Holistic approach to healthcare Practice.  We call it a day after the seminar.

That night me and my friends Jonah and Bien went at Marikina sports complex, and hang around for a few hours at the fountain.  We were waiting for Jonah’s brother. There were lots of people around. Some children are playing hide and seek. Some were singing their favorite songs and lovers were chatting together. We were also busy among ourselves. Suddenly we heard people screaming from the highway,  “Get out of the way!!!”

Jonah and I were stop dead in tracks.

There was a jeep that ran over three people. It lost its break so it hit them. The lady went under the jeep and the two men got injured. The place was in turmoil and many people got frightened. There was a guy in front of the jeep whom we heard tried to stop the jeep. We went to see who it was and we jump out of one's skin, it was Bien. His hands were positioned in front of the jeep. We were caught unaware that he rushed in front of the Jeepney and stopped it.

He was really mad at the driver who seemed to not know what causes the accident.

People immediately gathered around just watching. We called for help. Bien tried to help the lady to be transfer inside the ambulance.

He went back to us and he looked very tired and exhausted.

We looked at Bien and asked him “How did you do that?” He just stared and smile.

Well that was an Adrenalin rush.
How will someone like him have the courage to stop a vehicle that lost its break?

Well with his smile I may say sometimes when you see something that you know you’re on call is an automatic reaction.

Choosing life from death is something you will not decide on when you know there were people to get hurt even it might hurt yourself.

God really exist in every one of us, and he never left us in times that we need him.

And Bien is a friend of mine that Im really proud of because he is someone who can really be a nurse not just because he has once become a hero but because he have the responsiveness in everything----- even in unexpected events.
